Rugs set fashion trends

With seasons come fashion changes. Womens wear designers have just launched their winter wear forecasts, and a gamut of other stylists have predicted what the up and coming fashions are in their given industry.

Well...rugs are by far no exception to this rule. Fashion forecasters have indicated the following for the coming twelve months. Keep this all in mind as you shop for new rugs.

1) Neutrals are coming back even stronger. Look for rugs that are much more subdued and subtle. This trend shift is in large part responding to the really out-there colors we saw in contemporary rugs for so many years.

2) Black and white is also becoming an important segment. Rugs that have such basic colors can be very striking, and graphically stimulating.

3) Soft and zesty, but I will try to break it down as easily as I can. Essentially, rugs that fit the soft and zesty category have peaches, pinks, creams, and lavender and a whole range of browns thrown in. This base of colors is becoming very popular in very high end rugs, and home interiors in more moderate price points will certainly see these hues on the horizon.
