Do I Really NEED a Rug Pad?

Well the short answer is yes, but let me explain why (and not just because we sell it). Rug pad helps protect both the rug and you. The right rug pad will give your new area rug the support and resiliency to stay new looking longer. It will also help keep your rug where you want it (one must protect oneself from the terrors of rug creep!) Can you imagine the hassle of chasing your rug around with a vacuum cleaner because it won't stay put for you to vacuum? So, with that in mind we offer you two solutions for your Rug Pad needs, and they are as follows:

Super-Stop is our most versatile rug pad. It’s made from long lasting vinyl polymers and should be used over all hard-surface materials to keep your rug in place and from sliding out from under you. (Aunt Agnes does NOT need another broken hip!) Super-Stop has been treated to inhibit the growth of mold and mildew and with proper maintenance should retain its non-slip properties for up to 10 years. This pad is easily cut to fit with standard household scissors so you can achieve the proper size.

Our other rug pad is called Magic-Stop. This product is for rugs you put over carpeting. The dry adhesive used in Magic-Stop will keep your new rug from creeping and bunching when you place it over top of other carpets. Treated the same as Super-Stop, this pad will also inhibit the growth of mold and mildew. The dry adhesive is such that it will not transfer to either the carpet you place it over or the rug you place on top of it.

Rug pad comes in very standard sizes; rugs do not. You will need to properly fit your rug pad to your rug. This is very easy. Simply trim the rug pad with a pair of scissors to a size that is about 1-3 inches smaller than the rug you’re placing over it. If you have any questions about what to do, what to order, what size, etc, Danielle in Customer Care is standing by ready to help.
