The Search for Art

I’ve lived in my home for eight years now and still am not done decorating it. When I moved in, I promised myself that I would not purchase artwork simply to fill the walls. I would only buy something if it spoke to me. As I’ve slowly added pieces to my home, I found that while my walls are speaking to me, my floor is not. My brother turned me onto the Rugs to My Door website and I was overwhelmed, in a good way. There were so many area rugs to choose from. I found absolutely, beautiful rugs that were decorated in vibrant colors and designs. There were rugs in deep jewel tones and others with bright, contemporary tones. While I found area rugs that differed greatly in look, they all held something in common. Each and every one was a piece of artwork to be invested in. I perused through a selection of area rugs that were hand knotted and couldn’t believe the workmanship I saw. Techniques dating back hundreds of years are still used to create a beautiful area rug that would be one of a kind. It was something that would make my floors sing, not just speak to me.
I find that I am drawn to several of the area rugs this website offers and am thoroughly enjoying my search to find the rug that will be the new piece of artwork for my home.
